When I first learned that Chuck Grambart had a litter of puppies in June of 2008, the wheels inside my head began turning.
Besides the fact that all his pups were beautiful tri-colors, the pedigree was what really interested me.  Buddy's great
grandsire was Russ, who is also my Dillon's sire.  Since there aren't too many of the Jarratt line ES out there, this was a
perfect opportunity to pull back some of that hard to find NC bloodline into my breeding program.

Liberty is co-owned by myself & Vicki McKinnie and she resides with Vicki.  At around 8 months of age, Liberty did undergo
surgery for OCD of the shoulder.  I have spent a lot of time researching this to the best of my ability along with talking with my
vet, Dr. John Shontz.  Some reports that I read seemed to indicate that OCD of the shoulder was more likely to be trauma
induced.  Seeing as how Liberty is a very active "mountain goat," this seemed to be a probable cause of the OCD in her case.  We
can find no other instance of this occurring in her littermates or in parents and immediate kin.  After much deliberation, a great
temperament and a good PennHIP report, we have decided to do a test litter with Dillon in 2010.  As Dr. John stated to me,
OCD is a "fixable" issue.   Once fixed, there is no further problem.

Liberty has been a complete love bug from day one.  I did fly up to Minnesota to bring her back to NC.  After a very long trip and
layovers, we made it back to our house.  Brian didn't want to let her go to Vicki's and she almost ended up living here with us.  As
you can see, she made a big impression on both of us.  I have been able to visit with Liberty every few months and it is obvious
that she remembers who we are.  When I walked into the examining room the day of the x-rays, she immediately jumped up to
greet me.  Vicki says she doesn't do this to anyone else.

We will be watching Liberty as she continues to mature.  I am very excited about a match-up between her and Dillon.

January 2010 - Liberty came into heat a little sooner than we had expected.  Since this was her 3rd cycle, we went ahead and
bred her to Dillon.  Puppies should arrive around the end of March.  For further information on the expected litter, click
here.
Liberty stayed with us for about a week.  She continues to impress us with her calm temperament and loving nature.  She has a
real "Egyptian" look to her eyes, almost like heavy eyeliner.  It's very pretty on her!  Liberty stands right at 22" at the
shoulder and is around 50 pounds.
