Four month old Kira had shown interest in the puppies from the time they were born, but Bec was not interested in her getting too close to them.   Occasionally, Kira would get next to the pen, and look longingly inside.   When the pups were 3 1/2 weeks old, I put a few toys into the pen.  Now, Kira really looked longingly inside the pen, but this time decided to act upon her impulses and go ahead inside.  I thought she was after the toys, but no, she wanted to be with the puppies.   She got in, checked them out and then proceeded to lay down to "play" with them.  She used such a soft mouth with them especially when they couldn't even half walk.   Believe it or not, Bec was okay with this situation & has continued to allow Kira to interact with the pups.
