Dixie

Four Weeks

Two weeks old
Dixie
at 2 weeks asleep
under the watchful
eye of Mom
Dixie
is a gorgeous little tricolor with her front stocking
feet and her little blaze on her face.  She is still the
largest pup in the litter.

Three weeks old
Dixie still is the largest pup in the litter, weighing in
at 5 pounds.  She also "wins" the prize for the cutest
pictures this week!  Dixie is another one of my
"quiet" pups.  Except for the blaze, she looks very
similar to her brother, Duncan.  There have been
several times when I have confused the two, just
looking at their faces.  They both have that "old soul"
look to their eyes.

Five Weeks
Dixie continues to test where she is within the litter.
This whole litter seems to be very affectionate and
fairly accepting of me and the big dogs as being
alphas.  Dixie seems to be one of those pups within
the middle of the pack.  She is becoming more
inquisitive about the yard and is willing to seek out
new experiences without any trouble.

Six Weeks
Dixie is barely holding onto the lead in the weight
department.  She and Duncan hang around
together a lot while investigating or playing.
Where you see one, you will probably see the
other.  Dixie is a little more outspoken than
Duncan, but in general seems to have the same
acceptance of life in general, that Duncan has.

Seven Weeks
Dixie is continuing to grow into a beautiful girl.
She has become more adventurous - willing to
experience new things without her littermates
right by her side.  You can see her (to the right)
interacting with the ducks during her herding
instinct test this week.

Eight Weeks
Dixie will be with us for a little over a week
before she goes to her new home in VA.  The
Havens & their young son will be her companions.
She continues to be one of the bigger pups in the
litter & can be a real sweetheart of a pup.
