Three weeks old |
Davie at three weeks is beginning to assert himself, possibly as leader of the litter. He was one of the first ones to master walking & uses it as an advantage since he can run in short bursts now. He was one of the first puppies to explore his new surroundings by walking on the hardwood flooring. His tan is much lighter than the other pups.
All the pups seem to be very loving & Davie is not an exception. He does seek my attention when we are playing inside or out. I think he will still be the pack leader unless Darla or Dale have other ideas. Learning about grass this week was quite an experience for all the pups. Davie was one of the first to follow and come to me as I stood in the yard and called to them. In the photo to the right, he is behind his sister Dixie.

Five Weeks
Davie is usually the first or second pup to come running when I call. He continues to push being one of the leaders & seeks out my attention. He is very happy to be in my arms and receive my full attention. All the pups seem to be very even tempered & have enjoyed having several young visitors this week.

Six Weeks
Davie reacts and responds the quickest of the litter when called from a distance. He is one of the largest pups & leaders of the pack as well. It's not unusual to see him and either Dale or Darla mixing it up. As much as he likes to explore with Dee, I find that he and Dee are also the pups that tend to be at my feet waiting for attention. Davie's tan seems to be getting a little darker over time, but I don't think it will ever be as dark as his siblings.

Seven Weeks
Davie was one of the pups who really turned on during the herding instinct test. He was moving them, worried about the ducks splitting He continues to be a delight and quite a love!

Eight Weeks
Davie will be leaving here in just a couple of days to head off into his new life with Pam Kaye & family in MT. Future plans for Davie include agility & herding. I am very excited about his placement. He continues to be quite an outgoing young male.
