Beck
Beck, like Sawyer, was one of the quiet ones in the litter.
I could always find Beck nearby ready to climb into my
lap to be loved.  He was one of my steadfast "rocks" of
the litter and was a joy to have around.  Beck's new home
is in WI with the Harveys.  The Harveys drove all the way
to NC to pick this special guy up!

I thought I would send a couple pictures of Beck. He is growing fast. He is getting tall
and filling out. He is doing pretty well but at times we have threatened him with
rehoming. ;-) He is still in training but I think we are getting more training than the dog.

You did hit his personality on the head. He is a lovable, delightful pup most of the time.
So far he has not eaten up too many things. Bobbi has lost one shoe, but she didn't like
them anyway and now has an excuse to buy new ones. The cats have become his
personal toys that move.

All in all we are quite happy with him.

April 2005
Glad to hear back from you. Beck does have the soft coat. It is long at the top
and wavy. He truly is a handsome dog. We are very happy with him. Beck loves
to go for walks and takes the leash in his mouth and he thinks he is walking us. He
loves to race around the yard and delights at chasing birds and squirrels. He has yet
to catch one though. He still goes goofy when we get someone at the door. He
wants to play with them. He does believe his job is to guard the house and alert us when anyone is walking by.

We still have him in the crate at night because he still wants to chew at
times. We are about ready to get him to not use it at night or during the
day. I have to get to the point where I can trust him not to vandalize the
house. He has only gotten to one pair of Bobbi's shoes and then one night
he ripped up the fleece mat and pad in the crate. He loves to ride in the
convertible and sits in the back with his paws on the front seats and
watches the rear view mirror.

June 2005
Beck is doing just fine. I will try to get a current photo of him to you.
He has turned out to be a delight in most ways. He guards the house and
property with a vengeance. He has become really attached to Bobbi
(probably because she feeds him people food). He still thinks he is a puppy and a lap dog even though he is growing up. He plants
himself on the footrest of the recliner and watches TV with us. He becomes more obedient each day.

June 2006
I think we should have named him "His Majesty" as he dominates the house. The pictures
show how he eats dinner with Bobbi and then watches TV with us. As you can see he is all
Bobbi's buddy. He has grown into a handsome dog who is probably the smartest dog I have
ever had. He loves to ride in the car, especially to the drive in bank where he knows he will
get a dog treat from the teller. Yesterday, I went to a different branch than usual and he did
not get a treat. He looked at the teller and barked when the holder did not have a biscuit in it
for him.

We walk most every day now I am not working for the summer. He continues to want to
take the leash and lead me. He has made friends with a little puppy that lives near us. The
other day, the puppy came by here and as his owner and I were talking, he let the dog loose.
Beck played with him and when he started to go to the road, Beck started herding him back to the grass. It was a treat to see him
keep the puppy just where he wanted and not let him run in the road.
