Lydea
Lydea  had the distinction of being the first
born of the litter.  She had a wonderful sweet
temperament & enjoyed trying out new things.
She surprised me at times with some things
she would do.  I would have expected it from
her sister Blair.  Lydea joined the Gibbons
family and now lives in CO.

Our trip home was not without incidence. It just so happened that our plane from RDU never left the ground. Since it
took so long for them to make the assessment to change planes, most everyone who had connections on other flights
missed them. It became a long and exhausting flight for the both of us. We ended up with plans to stay the night in
Texas. We really lucked out though because I was determined to get home that night. Even though our plane was
landing in Texas at 10:00 and the connection was leaving at 9:55, I thought I would make sure that flight wasn't
delayed. I had to find out what gate it was leaving from and get there as quick as possible. The 10:00 flight had left
but the 7:45 flight was still there. Their flight had got rescheduled for 10:45. What a relief!! We were much later than
planned but we got home around 1:00 Saturday morning. The whole family was very tired yesterday.

With all that we went through Belle was absolutely quiet and calm. I’m sure she didn't appreciate it all but she was
excepting of it and had no complaints. She seems to be dealing well with all at home here. She has met our 2 cats and
the neighbor’s dog which she has been enjoying playing with every couple of hours. Duchess, the neighbor’s dog, sits
at our doorstep waiting for her to come out. I think it was a comfort to her to have another doggie companion.

We have been enjoying Belle thoroughly. We have renamed her finally…..Miss Lydea, or as she is called, Lydee. We
have not really had any problems. Ryan trained her pretty quick to come to the clicker. We haven’t gotten her to sit or
lie down as of yet. Ryan has tried but she always wants to play. Her first puppy class is tonight. It should be fun.
Everyone that comes into contact with her loves her. She IS very sweet!

It is amazing how her herding instinct comes out. We have two larger burms on the property. One over looks the
horses and one over looks our front fields. She loves to sit on them and just look out over things.

As you can see she loves the snow. We have a hard time getting her to come in.
The other pictures are of her first short hike. She happened to get covered in mud that day. It was the day after
Christmas. She also has dealt well with our two cats. She wants to play with them in the worst way.  They have not
gone that far yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if she and the kitten might chase each other around the house over time.
Again we are having a wonderful time with her and are so happy with her sweet loving personality.
